APPLICATION REQUIRMENTS

 

NOTICE: The Stabler Foundation is not accepting applications for grants submitted by organizations that it has not supported in the past five years. If your organization has not received a grant from The Stabler Foundation within the past five years, you should not apply.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT STABLER FOUNDATION GRANTS

The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation (hereinafter the Foundation) was established in 1966 exclusively for charitable, religious, scientific, literary, or educational purposes.  Organizations assisted by the Foundation must be exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended.  No grants will be made to individuals, and no grants will be made to organizations for purposes of propaganda, lobbying, attempting to influence legislation, or for participating in any way in a political campaign.

Grants are made to institutions that are located, or provide their primary service, in central or eastern Pennsylvania.  Grants are given only in rare circumstances to institutions that are government controlled or operated.

 

GRANT GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION INFORMATION

Grant applications must be typewritten and forwarded via USPS or overnight courier to:

Please send one copy only - no binders or binding of any type, no sheet protectors, and no two-sided copies.  

Applicants are to provide the full name of the organization with EIN number; mailing address; contact person/title; telephone number; and, organization type (corporation, foundation, association, educational institution, etc.)

Grant applications must also include an Executive Summery where, in no more than 6 paragraphs, applicants provide specific details of the organization's plans, strategies, budget and amount requested.

Grant applications must also include, in no more than 5 typewritten pages (500 words per page), responses to all of the following questions:

  1. Organization Description: Provide a brief history of the organization and past projects and/or initiatives related to the project submitted for funding consideration.
  2. Statement of Need: How much is requested? What is the problem that the project will address?
  3. Project Description: Provide specific information about the strategies to be undertaken and the goals and objectives of the proposed project.
  4. Plan of Evaluation: Describe the specific outcomes of the project and the quantifiable standards used to measure success.

Please also include the following attachments:

Attachment A: Total budget for the project, including a detailed list of expenses and all sources of support for the project. Please also include a copy of the organization's most recent (audited) financial statement.

Attachment B: A copy of the organization's letter from the Internal Revenue Service stating it is exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3).

Attachment C: Statement indicating that the requested funds will be used in central and/or eastern Pennsylvania.

Attachment D: A list of directors and officers of the organization.

 

IF THE GRANT APPLICATION DOES NOT ADHERE TO THE GUIDELINES ABOVE AND/OR INCLUDE ALL OF THE REQUESTED ATTACHMENTS, IT WILL BE REJECTED.
